The Truth about SEO and Word Press

SEO doesn’t just happen automatically because you have a Word Press website.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a technical term for a simple thing. All SEO means is that your website has good visibility and ranks high on the search results. Plain and simple. When your website has good SEO it is easier for people to find it.

SEO Factors

There are many factors that make a website SEO friendly, meaning the search engines find it, like it, and rank it well, when people enter keywords. It all starts with the keywords. It pays to do some research on what the best keywords are for your industry so that people find your site with the most common search terms. Good SEO content is when it is value packed for the reader and has the appropriate percentage of keywords in the content.

But there are other factors to consider that also affect SEO, besides the content. SEO rules are constantly changing, so it is important to keep learning more about SEO so you can keep up with the latest and greatest tips and techniques for using the best SEO practices.

Recently I found this resource Search Engine Land, about SEO and Word Press websites. I hope it helps you learn something new and useful about SEO that you can apply to your own website.

I Love Word Press

Some people love Word Press and others prefer other platforms such as Weebly or Joomla. I am a loyal Word Press woman all the way. I’ve been creating Word Press sites for myself and clients for over 10 years. It was so user-friendly that I taught myself how to use Word Press to make my own websites.

I am not a techno-nerd by any stretch of the imagination, but I am a woman on a budget and a do-it-yourselfer. Word Press has been a good fit for me and my businesses. I like it because I have control and creative freedom to do what I want, when I want, without waiting for a web designer to squeeze me into their busy schedule.

I get to have what I want when I want it with Word Press.

Did you know that over 50% of all websites that exist today are Word Press websites? There’s a reason for that, they are user-friendly, don’t require a lot of special coding and are open source. That’s another fancy technical term that means something really simple. Open source means that there are a lot of developers and designers that get to play nice with each other and create cool free stuff like plug-ins and widgets that we get to use for free. Cool huh?
