Reinventing yourself is not for the faint at heart!
Yes, I have reinvented myself many times in my lifetime. It has taken courage and a belief in me and my ability to give up ego concerns about what others think or my status in life.
Don’t Let Fear of Change Rob You of Your Dream!
It has always been worth it to make course corrections in my life, because happiness and fulfillment are my compass. I think too many people settle out of fear and then stay stuck in careers, marriages and lifestyles they are unhappy in. I am not willing to do that. As a result, I have had to face my fear and learn new skills and develop new aspects of my character, in order to conquer the next hurdle towards recreating myself professionally as well as personally. It has rarely been easy, but it has always been worthwhile.
Going for it!
Now at 52, I am reinventing myself once again for the home stretch in my life. I am really going for my dream as a freelance writer. It is exciting and gives my days meaning, purpose and passion. As a result of my willingness to reinvent myself throughout my lifetime, I have developed a strong belief in my ability to learn new skills and grow. It has enriched my character to see what I am made of.
What are you made of?
My ability to persevere, be patient and eat the elephant one bite at a time has helped me stay the course when it wasn’t easy. Being optimistic and having a resilient spirit have been my saving grace above all other character traits. Life is good when you have the courage to be yourself and just go for it!
How about you? Is it time for a course correction or change in your life? How have you coped through making major changes in your life? What helped you get through them successfully? What were the benefits to making such changes in your life? Was it worth it?
